My horoscope told me to expect a challenge today . . .

After three weeks of tension and frustration GAs, TAs, and contract faculty here at York went on strike today. That means me. It also means all my classes are canceled. This is very frustrating. I’m really not impressed. I’m trying to make the most of the situation though. Next week I’m going to invest in a week-long transit pass and a Dance Teq class card and take some classes downtown. Obviously I can’t keep that up indefinitely, but hopefully the strike will be short (however unlikely that is) and I wont get too out of shape. I’m also going to take some more classes at the gym, and have arranged to barter my English editing skills for Limon technique classes!
There is a picket line right outside our building and right under our living room window. Wheee. On the bright side of things, most areas of campus are pretty quiet today and I haven’t had to wait to cross a street all day!
